We are building a gigantic photovoltaic power plant in Pomerania!
Thanks to our cooperation with the German concern Goldbeck Solar, we will build our own photovoltaic farms. The first investment project is going to be the largest PV complex in all of Central and Eastern Europe.
The photovoltaic farm will be built in a small town in the Pomeranian Voivodeship on a plot of 300 hectares, i.e. an area equal to 422 full-size football pitches. This farm will generate approx. 230 GWh of green energy per year. This means that in the next 30 years, it will be able to reduce CO2 emissions by approx. 5 million tons. The power plant’s power is projected at 203 MW. Once its construction is complete, its value will amount to ca. 200 million euros.
Solar will make it possible to build photovoltaic power plants with a capacity of 350 MW each year, which translates into 1,750 MW over just 5 years. On December 14, the Energy Regulatory Office in Poland announced the results of an auction held in order to support the creation of RES – the Respect Energy and Goldbeck Solar investment project in Zwartów was among the winners.
The farm in Zwartów will produce enough energy to power 153,000 households, which means it will be able to meet the energy needs of as many people as there are residents in a city the size of Gdańsk.
“The Polish energy market has great opportunities for development in the renewable energy sector. We are very pleased with the strategic cooperation with our new partner, Respect Energy, who approaches this new market in the same manner as we do – with strength and determination. The entire industry needs innovative solutions. We believe that work on our project will continue to progress in such a good atmosphere, and will soon result in further investment projects,” emphasized Joachim Goldbeck, the president of Goldbeck Solar.
The project is not only meant to develop the potential of the national niche of renewable energy sources, but also to maintain the biological activity of the region, e.g. by installing an apiary on the premises of the complex.
The construction of the PV farm in Pomerania is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2021. Energy will first be generated and delivered to consumers in the first quarter of 2022. It will be the largest complex of this type in Central and Eastern Europe. We are also interested in establishing cooperation with other wind and PV power plant project developers.
“The Joint Venture with Goldbeck Solar marks the development of another area of our business activity. This year, apart from wholesale trade on 21 markets, we have undergone rebranding and have been very successful in entering the market as Respect Energy. We are now kicking off the construction of our PV power plant in this part of Europe. Such an ambitious project was possible thanks to close cooperation with Solaris Ventum, DLA Piper and DFF Domińczak i Partnerzy Radcowie Prawni, Sp. P. We firmly believe that our projects will directly contribute to achieving our country’s full climate neutrality by 2050,” emphasized Sebastian Jabłoński, the president of the management board of Respect Energy.
